A charitable action takes place in Pakistan following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative

Following the initiative of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, another charitable action took place in Pakistan on the occasion of the Gurban Holiday.

 

The ceremony, which took place in the National Institute for Special Education, dealing with education, care and coordination of the disabled in Pakistan, was attended by the country’s State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Tarik Faisal Choudhry, General Director of the ministry’s Special Education and Social Welfare Department Sheikh Azhar Sajjad, Director of the National Institute for Special Education Mrs Nusrat Tahir, President of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Youth Forum Mahammad Asif Noor, representatives of mass media, employees of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Pakistan, as well as children with restricted health condition.

 

Tarik Faisal Choudhry thanked the Government of Azerbaijan and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for benevolent initiatives. He emphasized that the projects implemented by the Foundation in Pakistan have contributed to the development of friendly and brotherly relations of the peoples of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, and that this is highly appreciated by the Pakistani state. It was underscored that the girls’ school constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Muzaffarabad in place of the one completely destroyed as a result of an earthquake, as well as humanitarian projects implemented in various regions of Pakistan are the sign of noble initiatives. The minister noted that the friendship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan has been built on a solid ground and the countries have supported each other at difficult times, informing of the works the Pakistani Government has carried out in the social sphere.

 

Sheikh Azhar Sajjad, talking about the moral dimensions of the charitable actions carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Pakistan for centres for children with restricted health condition, said these projects inspired them to view life in an optimistic manner.

 

Greeting the event participants on behalf of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and conveying her congratulations on the holiday, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Pakistan Ali Alizadeh said that the friendly and brotherly ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have been built on the principle of sincere relationship, and on a solid ground, both the countries have supported each other in almost all matters, and that the bilateral relations cover political, economic, commercial, humanitarian and other spheres.

 

Giving information about the works carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in a number of countries, including Pakistan, the ambassador stated that the projects implemented by the Foundation - led by Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, in various regions of Pakistan in the fields of education, healthcare, as well as the humanitarian sphere, were of significant importance, and that these projects are the symbol of the Azerbaijani people’s sincere feelings towards the people of Pakistan, and our solidarity.

 

The ambassador mentioned a number of projects implemented by the Foundation in Pakistan since 2005, including the construction of a school, building of a water supply system, creation of the Thalassemia Centre etc., saying that today’s charitable event also was a sign of solidarity and unity. He said, along with gifts, meat of sacrificed animals were distributed among five centres of the Department for Special Education and Social Welfare Department for children with restricted health condition.

 

At the event, children performed little shows, sang songs. Gifts, e-tablets, teaching accessories and various toys from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation were presented to centres for children with restricted health condition.
