First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the First Moscow State Medical University after I.M.Sechenov

Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the world known First Moscow State Medical University after I.M.Sechenov of the Russian Federation.

Appropriate letter from Rector of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, professor, Doctor of Medicine Pyotr Glybochko, says: “'The leadership of the First Moscow State Medical University after I.M.Sechenov has passed a decision to award the title of the Honorary Professor of the University to First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Arif gyzy Aliyeva for her special contribution to the resolution of global problems related to the protection of healthcare, environment, peace and humanism. Philanthropic activity of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva is highly praised in Russia. The Russia Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation cooperates with the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia in implementation of a number of important projects including the projects “Cancer has no nationality”, “Youth against AIDS and drug addiction”, “Be sure you are healthy”, as well as other charity actions at hospitals, homes of children and veterans. Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva’s participation in vitally important projects, aimed for protection of mother and child, combat against talassemia, children diabetes and other diseases is of valuable interest. To us, it is very important that with her activities Mehriban Arif gyzy Aliyeva, the graduate of our university, represents the First Moscow State Medical University after I.M.Sechenov and raises its prestige on the international level.”

The title of Honorary Professor of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, enjoying international influence for outstanding scientist and public figure graduates, was conferred only on two persons – world famous cardiologist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Eugenie Chazov and world famous cardiac surgeon, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Leo Bokeria.
