An exhibition opens and a gala concert takes place at the Heydar Aliyev Center within the framework of the Days of Hungary

On March 17, an exhibition opened and a Gala Concert took place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre in the framework of the Days of Hungary in Azerbaijan.

 

Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the event.

 

Serving to promotion of the Hungarian culture in our country, this project was realised in the framework of the cooperation between the Hungarian Embassy in Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

The series of events arranged under the patronage of Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva draw attention with their extensive and interesting programmes.

 

Speaking at the opening of the Days of Hungary, which was attended also by Hungary’s First Lady Anico Levai, ambassador of this country to Azerbaijan Imre Laslotski thanked the First Vice-president for supporting this event, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and congratulated our people on Novruz Holiday.

 

Then opening of an exhibition comprised of works by Hungarian artist Ferenc Eisenhut took place in the framework of the Days of Hungary in Azerbaijan.

 

Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva and Hungary’s First Lady Alnico Levai cut the ribbon symbolising the exhibition’s opening.

 

Familiarization with the exhibition took place. It was informed that, born in 1857 in Hungary, this artist had opened his exhibitions in Budapest, Vienna, Paris, Antwerp and Madrid, after he received his education in his country. However, oriental motifs have always drawn the artist’s attention and, therefore, he went on travels with his friends and arrived in the Caucasus. The topic of Caucasus forms a whole series in the artist’s creativity. He created rare pearls of the world painting art in Tbilisi, Baku and Derbent. With paintings being preserved in a number of world museums, Ferenc Eisenhut’s works won him state prizes of a number of countries in the artist’s lifetime, by their artistic level. Paintings made by Ferenc Eisenhut late in the 19th early in the 20th centuries in Baku and, in general, in the Caucasus, are now among the rare examples of the world’s cultural heritage, and 26 out of them are demonstrated for the first time in Baku in the framework of the Days of Hungary in Azerbaijan.

 

Speaking before the Gala concert arranged in the framework of the Days of Hungary in Azerbaijan, Hungary’s state secretary for cultural affairs Peter Hoppal said this event successfully personified Hungarian people’s national culture abroad. Bringing to attention historical similarities between our peoples, the guest noted that a number of scientific and cultural events associated with Hungary will be held in Baku in the course of a few days, and that these events will serve to extending the cooperation with the friendly Azerbaijan further.

 

Then a Gala Concert took place with participation of the State Popular Ensemble of Hungary.

 

Performed before the Baku audience with a group of 70 people, the concert included pieces of music and dances of the Hungarian people, and the audience experienced unforgettable moments.
