“Azerbaijani Family 2017” Film Festival is launched

The 9th film festival “Azerbaijani Family 2017” is launched with joint organizational support of the State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Affairs, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the UN’s Population Fund.

 

Having been held since 2009 and being of international nature, the primary objective of the film festival “Azerbaijani Family” and the photo competition “From Life to Picture” being held in the framework of the festival is to promote family values through the art of cinematography and photography, preserve national and moral values and convey them to future generations, throw light upon the issues facing the society, discover creative abilities of the youth, enrich the fund consisting of video and photo materials reflecting family issues, and demonstrating the works presented to members of the society for the purpose of enlightenment.

 

The regulations setting out the terms of holding the film festival “Azerbaijani Family 2017” and the photo competition “From Life to Picture”, choosing and rewarding winners, as well as questionnaires for the participants have been worked out by the Festival’s Organizing Committee and placed on the Committee’s website (www.scfwca.gov.az).

 

Films to be presented by foreign movie directors (that would reflect their countries’ national and family values) on the nomination of artistic, documentary, animation films, social documentaries, TV programmes, photos and a “foreign film” may be submitted to the Organizing Committee (SCFWCA, Government House, 4th Gate) from 30 March 30 to 1 October. Works presented to the Festival will be assessed by a jury consisting of the society’s eminent scientific and cultural figures, and representatives of the entities concerned.
