The Heydar Aliyev Foundation will arrange “Azerbaijani Village” in Paris

“Azerbaijani Village” will be arranged by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on the Palais Royal Square in Paris,  August 29. Called “Azerbaijan in the heart of Paris”, the village will function until September 9.

To be organized for the second time, the “Azerbaijani Village” will present the country’s history, culture, folk art, traditions, and national cuisine.

Each of the sections in the “Azerbaijani Village” created on famous Palais Royal Square before the Louvre Museum, with millions of visitors, will create vast possibilities  to get to know our country multilaterally, and make nations become closer.

An exhibition with Azerbaijani items of carpet-making, pottery and other types of art, national dresses and music instruments will be arranged in the village. Visitors will have a chance to become acquainted with the process of creating these pieces of art in the “Workshop” section. Artisans representing our country will make copper dishes, lattice, carpet and other pieces of art, whereby present Azerbaijan’s ancient and rich art traditions and niceties thereof to visitors.

In the village will also be arranged a photo exhibition consisting of works by famous Azerbaijanis living in France and Frenchmen living in Azerbaijan. Called “Azerbaijanis and Frenchmen: the history of acquaintance”, this exhibition praises the lives of the two countries and nations.

There will also be pavilions in the “Azerbaijani Village” to demonstrate our national cuisine. At the same time, national sweets and drinks will be presented at pavilions related to various local companies operating in Azerbaijan.

Delicious dishes of our national cuisine will be made for the visitors of the village.

Publications by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation covering various areas will also be presented at the exhibition.

On a stage mounted in the “Azerbaijani Village” will also be arranged concert programmes. Azerbaijani music and dances will be presented in these concerts.

We would like to mention that the “Azerbaijani Village” was first arranged by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on Saint Sulpice Square of Paris during 19-28 September 2014. Welcomed by visitors with great interest, this project had created great opportunities for widening of relations with Azerbaijan. On the assumption of this interest, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is arrangingsuch a village in another famous place of Paris – on Palais Royal Square in order to praise our country’s history, national and cultural treasures, and  opportunities for tourism.
