Opening of the Uzeir Hajibeyli 8th International Music Festival takes place

Opening of the Uzeir Hajibeyli 8th International Music Festival took place, September 18, with organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Held in the State Philharmonic of Azerbaijan named after M.Magomayev, the opening ceremony was announced open by an overture from “Koroghlu” Opera of the composer genius, performed by the State Symphonic Orchestra named after Uzeir Hajibeyli (artistic director and conductor was People’s Artist Rauf Abdullayev).

A number of musical compositions were presented at the evening by the State Choral Capella of Azerbaijan, under artistic leadership of People’s Artist Gulbaji Imanova.

Over 30 events are expected to be realized, in general, during the days of Festival, which will continue until September 27. Music lovers will have a chance to listen also to works of other Azerbaijani composers, along with those of Uzeir Hajibeyli, at the events to take place in various cultural establishments of the capital.
