Cross-country running competition entitled “Equality of Chances” was organized among children with physical disabilities in Romania

A competition for cross-country running entitled “Equality of Chances” was organized among children with physical disabilities in the “Lumea Copiilor” (“Child World”) Park in Bucharest with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the League for Protection of Romanian Disabled’s’ Rights and 4th Sector of the Bucharest city.

 

The event was attended by Minister of Sport and Youth of Romania Mrs Gabriela Szabo, Executive Judge of the 4th Sector Christian Popesku Pyedone, renowned Romanian tennis player Iliye Natase, representatives of the League for Protection of Romanian Disabled’s’ Rights, the Romanian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, parents of the children participating in the competition, and mass media.

 

Underscoring the event’s significance, chairperson of the League for Protection of Romanian Disabled’s’ Rights Luminitsa Georgiou said such events will contribute to integration of disabled children into the society. He thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the support provided to this action.

 

Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Romanian Representative Office Igbal Hajiyev informed the participants of the Office’s 7-year charitable and humanitarian activities. Highly appreciating the strategic relations between the two states, Igbal Hajiyev said the Representative Office will continue its activities towards strengthening these relations.

 

After the speeches, the competition started.

 

Winners of the competition were presented medals, cups, diplomas and souvenirs, and participants-children were distributed souvenirs.
