Presentation of a multimedia disk, the website www.zarifa-aliyeva.az and a postage stamp prepared on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of eminent ophthalmologist-scholar, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was held

Ceremony took place on April 26 at Avropa Hotel to present multimedia CD, Internet site www.zarifa-aliyeva.az and postage stamp developed on the 85th jubilee of outstanding scientist in ophthalmology, Academician Mrs Zarifa Aliyeva by Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies.  

Head of Humanitarian Policy Affairs Section of the President’s Office Fatma Abdullazade, MPs and other officials were present in the ceremony.

Talking of rich and interesting life of Zarifa Aliyeva Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov valued huge successes Z.Aliyeva gained as a scientist as the special phase in the history of Azerbaijani medicine. Informing of the project the Minister said it was not easy to cover big life of Zarifa Aliyeva, a person of inborn talent, in one compact disk. Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, directly managed the performance of the project.

Talking about high humane qualities of the scientist Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis Bahar Muradova characterized Zarifa Aliyeva as a decent, humanist, kind and good person, connecting her professional successes to these features. Kindness was her lifestyle. Zarifa Aliyeva was born in the family of prominent statesman and public figure, great son of Azerbaijan Aziz Aliyev. Life of her father was the real school of life to her. 

Talking of contributions by Zarifa Aliyeva to ophthalmology academicians Akif Alizade and Adila Namazova mentioned she implemented studies on important subjects, spent a lot of energy on treatment of a number of eye diseases, putting an end to trachoma in Azerbaijan, carried out valuable researches in field of study of different phases of the disease and its treatment.  

They underlined Zarifa Aliyeva was faithful spouse, devoted friend and trusty associate of founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, genius person having dedicated his life to the progress of his homeland and people, national leader Heydar Aliyev. Upbringing she received in the family of Aziz Aliyev helped her as the spouse of the first person of the country. Zarifa Aliyeva was grateful child, famous scholar, talented person, faithful spouse and careful mother.

Multimedia CD and video reel were shown in the ceremony. The video reel shows distinctive features of Zarifa Aliyeva in Azeri, Russian and English languages in 3 aspects: ophthalmologist, faithful spouse and careful mother. 

Available in 3 languages multimedia CD and Internet site consists of sections ‘Portrait’, ‘Spouse’, ‘Mother’, ‘Memories’ and ‘Elegy’. Every section includes up to 50 photographs and texts talking in detail of life and activities of Zarifa Aliyeva, covering her actions as a doctor and scientist. The video reel contains shots on the last days of the scholar’s life.  

In the end, postage stamp dedicated to the 85th jubilee of Zarifa Aliyeva was presented. Copies of stamps to be given to the philately museum have been signed by Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov, First Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis Ziyafet Asgerov, Deputy Chairman of Parliament and Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis Bahar Muradova, Deputy Chairman – Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov, Minister of Health Ogtay Shiraliyev, Academician Jemil Aliyev and others.
