A ceremony of presentation of the publication “Azerbaijan” developed as part of a project by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was held


Ceremony of presentation of publication “Azerbaijan” developed as part of project by Heydar Aliyev Foundation was held March 18 at Modern Art Museum.


Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.


The publication, which includes over 1000 photos, features detailed information on Azerbaijan, including the country`s history, culture, traditions, ethnographic characteristics and present day. The book’s chapters take a reader to every inch of Azerbaijan, starting this symbolic journey from Baku located on the coasts of legendary Caspian, including Icherisheher, Shirvanshah Palace, Maiden Tower.


The travel is continued in Absheron, Gobustan rock paintings, Yanardagh, Shahdagh, gardens in Guba-Khachmaz, forests and ancient fortresses in Sheki-Zagatala and Ganca-Gazakh, unique nature and historical monuments of Nakhchyvan and Lankaran. The book, which has chapters dedicated to the Armenian-occupied lands, comprises a CD and booklet.  


The book`s foreword was written by Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP. 


Attended by state and government officials, MPs and members of the general public, the event was opened by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.


President Ilham Aliyev made remarks at the ceremony.


The ceremony featured an exhibition of photos from the book.


President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva cut the red ribbon and were familiarized with the exhibition.


Milli Mejlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov, President Administration’s Head Ramiz Mehdiyev, MPs, intellectuals and representatives of the public were present in the event.
