The Azerbaijani pavilion at the 57th International Art Exhibition – the Venice Biennale, held in 2017 is represented with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The national pavilion called “Under The Single Sun. The Culture of Coexistence” displays Azerbaijan’s multicultural traditions, ethno-cultural diversity, and tolerance.

The concept of the exhibition displayed at Lezze Palace related to the 14th century in Campo Santo Stephano, one of the busiest places of Venice, expresses the cultural diversity dominating in Azerbaijan by the way of artistic interpretation.

Interactive media projects such as video-mapping and installation by “Hypnotica” Visual Performance Group, and works by young artist Elvin Nabizadeh are demonstrated at the exhibition. Authors present art pieces generated from the synthesis of traditional analogous and contemporary digital art in Azerbaijan. Working with different materials, the artisans call on the world to think about the culture of coexistence. Curator of the exhibition is former director of the Victoria and Albert Museum, professor Martin Roth.

The Azerbaijani pavilion in Venice will be open until November 26.
