A special presentation ceremony took place in Washington in connection with the implementation of a project to be realized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in cooperation with the charitable organization Save a Child’s Heart.
The event was opened by Daniel Mariachi, the Vice-president of the organization B'nai B'rith International, where the event was held. He highly appreciated the cooperation built between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the organization Save a Child’s Heart.
Executive Director of the organization Save a Child’s Herat David Lituak provided information about the organization he was representing, and said the organization’s centre located in Israel. According to him, due to the cooperation to be built with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan will be the 49th country the organization will cooperate with. D.Lituak said over 2 thousand children’s life was saved so far by physicians, due to the support provided to this organization, which was founded in 1995: “Due to the partnership relations built with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijani children born with severe cardiac failure may be operated at the Wolfson Medical Center operating in Israel. Azerbaijani specialists will be trained within the project: “Our organization is ready to provide support to the creation of a specialized medical centre in Azerbaijan.”
Jamila Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh, the representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in USA, informed the attendees of the Foundation’s activity. She talked about the significance of the cooperation with the organization Save a Child’s Heart, and mentioned that Mehriban Aliyeva, Azerbaijan’s First Lady and President of the Foundation, was a physician by profession, and for this reason, she showed special attention and care towards projects in the field of healthcare, in particular, treatment of children, and these works were the focus of her attention.
J.Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh said the project with the organization Save a Child’s Heart, presented in Washington, will strengthen the existing bridges between the three countries – Azerbaijan, USA and Israel – further.
The attendees of the event watched a documentary about the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s activity, and acquainted themselves with publications of the Foundation covering various subjects.
Advisor to Azerbaijan’s Embassy in USA Fakhraddin Ismailov said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s share in Azerbaijan’s international charity activity was significant.
Deputy advisor to the Israeli Embassy in USA Eli Groner, President of the US Representative Office of the organization Save a Child’s Heart Barry Perlis too highly appreciated the cooperation built between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the organization Save a Child’s Heart.
A few days prior to the event, US representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Jamila Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh met with head of the US Board of Directors of the organization Save a Child’s Heart Francis Cook. Perspectives of cooperation between the organizations were a subject of discussion at the meeting.
