Ganca Regional Information Center for Physically Handicapped Persons

The key goal in the establishment of the Ganca Regional Information Center for Physically Handicapped Persons, one of the projects implemented by Heydar Aliyev Foundation towards the integration of the physically retarded people into the society, is teaching the physically handicapped IT. President Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the Ganca Regional Information Centre, February 9, 2011.


Created by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and UNDP, the Center has a reading hall, learning and training centre, audio library, recording studio converting literature fund into audio format, computer center. The reading hall contains up to 1000 Braille books for the blind and large-font books for the visually impaired, 4 Braille displays, 2 Poet-Compact Easy Reading Machines, 2 VideoLight Enhancers and an appropriate printer. Intellect developing games have been installed on computers for mentally retarded people. Subtitle films for the deaf and dumb are shown at the library. Internet site of the Center includes “Acquaintance” section as well. The Center has all conditions for those with invalid carriage.        


Over 60 thousand physically disabled people from Aghstafa, Dashkasan, Gazakh, Gadabey, Goranboy, Samukh, Tovuz, Goygol, Shamkir districts and Naftalan city are benefiting from the Centre's capacity.
