An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan is held in London with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

An official reception dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan took place in the Great Britain’s capital, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani Embassy in this country.

 

Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov, Co-chair of the England-Azerbaijan Association Nargiz Pashayeva, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Great Britain, state entities and parliament, as well as businessmen attended the event.

 

Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Great Britain Tahir Taghyzadeh gave information about the history of formation of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, the first democratic republic in the Muslim Orient, and the achievements reached during its activity.

 

It was mentioned at the event that Azerbaijan has been acting jointly with the Great Britain on various international platforms, and that President Ilham Aliyev’s last visit to London has contributed to the advancement of the bilateral relations.

 

Member of the Great Britain Government’s House of Lords, trade envoy of the prime minister of Britain Baroness Emma Nicolson too congratulated the participants of the event and the people of Azerbaijan on the 100th anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan. She valued the establishment of the first democratic republic in the Orient a hundred years ago as a significant historical event.

 

Photos and documents, video and audio materials related to the history of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, a documentary dedicated to the history of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan were demonstrated at the exhibition organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the framework of the event, and a music programme was presented.
