Mehriban Aliyeva met with Sandra Elisabeth Rulofs, spouse of Georgian President

Sandra Elisabeth Rulofs, spouse of Georgian President, visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation, October 9.

 

Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, spouse of the Azeri President, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP, gave a warm welcome to Mrs Sandra Elisabeth Rulofs.

 

Spouse of the Georgian President and persons accompanying her first watched the documentary on the activities of the Foundation, projects it implements.

 

Then, the First Ladies of both countries had a meeting.

 

Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva congratulated Mrs Sandra Elisabeth Rulofs on birth of her son, expressed delight of seeing the spouse of the Georgian President in Baku with her son Nikolos.

 

Informing the distinguished guest of goals of Heydar Aliyev Foundation established on May 2004 in memory of the genius person, national leader Heydar Aliyev the First Lady of Azerbaijan said main goals of the Foundation is to study and propagate rich political legacy of famous political figure Heydar Aliyev, create an obvious idea in foreign visitors and future generations on his large-scale activity towards socio-economic and cultural progress of Azerbaijan, support international projects started by the genius person, help the works implemented in field of wide propaganda of Azeri culture and history. In addition, the Foundation develops and carries out wide projects in field of science, education, medicine, culture. Talking of the works done in field of reconstruction of children homes and boarding schools, improving their material and technical base, rendering multilateral care to children deprived of parental care, helping the people suffering from diabetes and thalassemia, construction of new schools, teaching the invalid children to use IT, study and popularization of our rich culture Mrs Aliyeva noted 190 schools meeting modern standards were built and commissioned for last year and half in the republic, 90 of them are in remotest villages. More 50 schools will be built next year.

 

Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva noted the Mugam Center serving the propaganda of mugam, the ancient music of our people, the diagnostics and treatment center for thalassemia-affected ills are under construction in Baku.

 

Mrs Aliyeva said attention is always paid to problems of our countrymen in Georgia, manuals and school appliances are yearly sent to schoolchildren.

 

Recalling valuable talks and consultations she had with Mrs Sandra Elisabeth Rulofs in the meetings in Baku and Tbilisi towards establishing and developing the mutual ties, holding joint events Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva expressed confidence that the current meeting also will have a positive impact on the relations between our countries and nations that have always been in high level.

 

Thanking Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva for warm reception and sincere words Mrs Sandra Elisabeth Rulofs said she also leads the non-governmental organization in Georgia. She noted she will further try for expansion of bilateral ties with the Foundation. Mrs Sandra Elisabeth Rulofs said the agenda of current visit is wider and she will be able to closely know our country. The guest expressed her rich impression of the meeting with the First Lady of Azerbaijan.
