The event in connection with the Days of Azerbaijan held in the city of Melouse of France within the framework of the project “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – the Pearl of Caucasus” has been widely covered in the local press

The Days of Azerbaijan held in the city of Melouse of France’s Alsace region within the framework of the project “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – the Pearl of Caucasus” aimed at promoting Azerbaijan, with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by our country’s Embassy in France, has drawn a wide response. The events held have been widely covered in the newspapers “Latest news of Alsace”, “Alsace” and other local mass media. 

 

Printed in the newspaper “Latest news of Alsace” being published daily in the region of Alsace,  an article entitled “Residents of Melouse discover Azerbaijan” brought to attention that the first acquaintance with Azerbaijan, a country with old history, rich in culture, wide opportunities for tourism, started with the city of Melouse. The article talked of the inauguration of an exhibition reflecting Azerbaijan’s cultural values, and noted that residents of Melouse discovered our country due to a concert performed by our masters of art, and  received comprehensive information of our republic.

 

In an article of the newspaper entitled “Azerbaijan – my love”, it is emphasized that a spacious corner comprised of Azerbaijan’s multi-branded  wines, music instruments, carpets, coppersmithery and pottery items displayed at the exhibition organized in Melouse  has aroused much interest in city dwellers.

 

The article referred to the sayings uttered by President of the “Park Expo” exhibition hall, where an international exhibition was arranged, Philipp Metro in connection Azerbaijani wines.   He noted that Azerbaijan, just like Alsace, has gone a long path, and that quality of wines produced in our country drew the attention of visitors.

 

The article referred, at the same time, to the sayings by President of the Alsace region and surrounding settlements Senator Jan-Marie Bokel, which stated that the concert organized at the “Sin” Theatre of Melouse aroused much interest in dwellers of Melouse, and that Azerbaijan was a country rich in natural resources. The Senator emphasized the importance of strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and France further, and said more French companies will be interested in building cooperation with our country.

 

In an article printed in the newspaper “Alsace” was stated that Azerbaijani wines displayed at the exhibition organized in Melouse aroused great interest and that a wine festival was held in our republic.

 

In an article printed in another edition of the newspaper “Latest news of Alsace” entitled “Dwellers of Melouse discover Azerbaijan”, it stated that dwellers of Melouse acquainted themselves with the culture of Azerbaijan, the pearl of Caucasus for the first time. It was noted that dwellers of Melouse were lucky to become acquainted with Azerbaijan, a country located at the intersection of the East and the West, with its worthy position in the Southern Caucasus, about ten million population and rapidly developing economy and a nice nature.   

 

The article mentioned that by organizing the project “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – the Pearl of Caucasus” with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by Azerbaijan’s Embassy in France, establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries was celebrated.

 

In an article, in which it stated that the fact that the Days of Azerbaijan was held in Melouse  was not by chance, it was mentioned that President of Alsace and surrounding settlements Senator Jan-Marie  and five other fellow-senators had made a trip to Baku last year to further develop diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and France. In the article, senator’s thoughts like “Azerbaijan is on a path of rapid development, and development talks of democracy. Azerbaijan enjoys a rapid growth rate not only in folklore, but also in all cultural areas” were emphasized.

 

Sayings of an official of a French tourism company Jan-Pierre Walter, who viewed the corner of Azerbaijan at an international exhibition opened in Melouse,  about our country were also referred to in the article. J.P.Walter said: “The culture of Azerbaijan, which plays the role of a door between the Europe and Asia, should definitely be discovered, as this country, with its old history, has rich culture and wide tourism opportunities. Azerbaijan’s mugham has been entered on UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritages. 

 

The article brought to attention that holding such events on a regular basis was of special significance in terms of making the peoples of Azerbaijan and France know each other better.
