The Third International Mugham Festival “World of Mugham” will be held in Baku

The Third International Mugham Festival “World of Mugham” will be held in Baku, with joint organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan, March 9.


The Actions Plan on holding the Third International Mugham Festival “World of Mugham” was approved by a resolution the head of the President Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Within the Festival, holding of concerts both in Baku and other regions of the country, with participation of Azerbaijani and foreign musicians, as well as International Mugham Contest (March 15 to march 18), International Scientific Symposium (March 12 to March 15) and master classes have been provided.


To participate in the Festival, world-renowned musicians and bands from Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, USA, France, Canada, England, Libya, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Germany, Jordan, Japan, Turkmenistan, Russia, China, India, Tunis and Egypt have been invited to Azerbaijan.


Among the participants of the International Festival, there will also be the “Beautiful Girls” band (China), Huseyn Al-Adhami (Iraq), Lotvi Bushnak (Tunis), Munoyat Yolchiyeva (Uzbekistan), Abdessalam Bajedub and “Chabab Al Andalouss” band (Morocco), “Turasu Libya Makam” (Libya), Jeffry Verbok (USA), Ozodakhon Ashurova (Tajikistan), Meta Pandit (India), “Voices of Anadolu” band (Turkey), Joachim Cortes and “Flamenco” group (Spain) and other well known performers and music groups.


At concerts to be presented within the framework of the Festival, along with foreign musicians, Azerbaijan’s eminent masters of mugham Arif Babayev, Alim Gasymov, Mansum Ibrahimov, Aygun Bayramova, Malakkhanum Ayyubova, Zabit Nabizadeh, Simara Imanova, Nazaket Teymurova, Nuriyya Huseynova, Gulyaz Mammadova, Fargana Gasymova, Vusala Musayeva, Tayyar Bayramov, and talented young performers - Arzu Aliyeva, Babak Niftaliyev, Ilkin Ahmadov, Ravana Arabova, Sabina Arabli, Kamila Nabiyeva, Miralam Miralamov and other will perform.


At the same time, performances by Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra named after Uzeir Hajibeyov, Azerbaijan State Popular Musical Instruments Orchestra, Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev, the State Dance Group, the State Music and Dance Ensemble and the State  Choir Cappella have been provided.


For the first time, a concert performance of the opera “Leyli and Majnun” by Uzeir Hajibeyov will be presented by the Gara Garayev State Chamber Orchestra, the Choir  Cappella and soloists.


At the same time, during the days of the Festival, the show “Leyli and Majnun”, “Asli and Karam” by Uzeir Hajibayli, “Seven Beauties” by Gara Garayev, “Thousand and One Night” by Fikrat Amirov will be presented on the scene of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.


Within the framework of the Festival, concerts of Jazz groups led by well-known jazz performers Jamil Amirov, Salman Gambarov, Elchin Shirinov, Etibar Asadli and Afgan Rasul will be held.
