2nd Azerbaijani Film Festival gets underway in Italy

Inauguration of the 2nd Azerbaijani Film Festival took place in historical Casa del Cinema House in Villa Borghese Park of Rome, June 20.

 

“Askanews” News Agency, AZERTAG, AzTV and “AzerbaijanNews” News Portal are the media partners of the festival, held with organizational support from such entities as the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy, the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Municipality of Rome, “Casa del Cinema”, “Zetema”, and “RAI Cinema”.

 

State officials of Italy, MPs, renowned people of culture and art, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, mass media, and movie lovers attended the event.

 

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Italy Mammad Ahmadzadeh, Chairperson of the Association for Interparliamentary Friendship with Azerbaijan at the Italian Parliament Rosanna Boldi, representative of “Zetema” - the entity responsible for cultural issues at the Rome City Municipality - Patricia Bracci delivered a speech at the event.

 

After the official opening of the festival, the movie “Arshyn Mal Alan” (production of 1945), one of the pearls of the Azerbaijani cinematography, was shown.

 

Feature-documentary film “The Last Meeting”, made with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, with chief producer being President of the Baku Media Centre Arzu Aliyeva, and feature films “The Pomegranate Garden”, “The Man of the Third Day” and “Tahmina” will be shown in the framework of the 2nd Azerbaijani Film Festival, which will continue until June 22nd.

 

The Italian media has shown great interest towards the festival, and articles were published in a number of mass media a few days before the start of the festival.
