8th Mugham TV Contest comes to the end

Arranged in the front yard of Bulbul’s house-museum in Shusha on August the 5th, the 8th Mugham TV Contest’s final phase started with commemoration of our martyrs perished for the freedom of our lands, by minute’s silence.

 

The contest is held with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, enjoying the organizational support of the Culture Ministry and the Azerbaijani Television.

 

First, the song “Garabagh”, performed by People’s Artist Mansum Ibrahimov, was listened to. The tape recording of the song “Mountains of Shusha”, performed by Khan Shushinski, added special rhythm to this music festival.

 

The contest was judged by People’s artists Arif Babayev, Melekkhanum Eyyubova, Sardar Farajov, Mansum Ibrahimov, Nazaket Teymurova, Teyyub Teymurov, Teyyub Aslanov, Honoured artist Fergana Gasymova, and officer of the contest, Honoured person of culture Ilgar Fahmi.

 

At the end of the contest were listened performances of young khanendehs Fuad Azizzadeh, Ulker Abdullayeva, Dashgyn Kurchayly, Aynur Hasankhanova, Vugar Abilov, Pedram Renjber, Maftun Safarli, as well as underage performers Hazrat Azizli, Fatima Kerimova and Sabir Aghayev. After the judges’ consultation, names of the winners were announced.

 

Among the underage performers, the first place went to Hazrat Azizli, the second place to Fatima Kerimova, with the third place being awarded to Sabir Aghayev.

 

Among the young khanendehs, Fuad Azizzadeh was awarded the first place, while Ulker Abdullayeva and Aynur Hasankhanova were honoured with the second and third place, correspondingly.

 

By a decision of the judges, Pedram Renjber and Maftun Safarli were awarded encouraging prizes.

 

Diplomas were presented to other participants.

 

The winners performed “Garabagh Shikestesi”.

 

Casting for the contest started on April 9, covering all the regions, mainly the districts of Aghdam, Fuzuli and other liberated from occupation territories. The contest was launched on May 10. The contest was aired live on the Azerbaijani Television and Culture Channel, twice a week, over the course of three months.
