Project on construction of International Mugam Center discussed at Heydar Aliyev Foundation

On December 14 at Heydar Aliyev Foundation the project on the building of International Mugam Center to be created in Seaside National Park of the capital was discussed with participation of the famous mugam singers of the republic.


Sincerely greeting the mugam masters, President of the Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva said the projects implemented by initiative of Azeri Culture Friends Foundation in direction of the protection, analysis, study of art of mugam, which is inseparable part of national culture of our people, its popularization in the world and delivery to future generations are welcomed by the society, causes very big interest in prestigious international organizations and several countries of the world. Recalling the ceremony of laying the foundation for the unique music center - International Mugam Center in National Park with participation of Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and UNESCO secretary general Mr Koichiro Matsuura, Mrs Aliyeva noted she was interested to know the views of the most popular mugam singers of the republic regarding outline and draft of the construction, its architecture. President of the Foundation said 10 projects have been submitted so far and the main attention is paid to achieve the construction of a complex reflecting the deep philosophy of the art of mugam, which is the cornerstone of our music, uniting the main elements of ancient national and modern architecture, called the music figures to an open and efficient exchange of views.


Then both slides and draft outlines of the projects were shown.


People`s artists of the republic, professors Arif Babayev and Janali Akbarov, Habil Aliyev, Agakhan Abdulayev, Alim Gasimov, Teymur Mustafayev, Mansum Ibrahimov and others highly valued the care shown by Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva to the mugam that is the top of our national culture, the actions carried out in this direction, expressed their proposals, suggestions and views on the presented projects.


It was underlined the discussions are important and mutual exchange of views will further be continued.
