The exhibition “Fly to Baku. Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan” in Baku

On December 27, 2013, inauguration of the exhibition “Fly to Baku. Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan”, with joint organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and “Baku” magazine, took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, in Baku.

 

President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president of the Foundation, ideological author of the project ”Flight to Baku” Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony.

 

Over 100 works of 21 artists working in painting, sculpture, installation, video-art, performance and photo genres are displayed at the exhibition.

 

With its special significance among the events held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation towards promoting Azerbaijan in the world, this exhibition was first opened in London in January 2012. Organized in Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Rome and Vienna during two years, the exhibition aroused great interest in local residents.

 

Final exhibition “Fly to Baku. Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan” continued until March 1, 2014.
