Exhibitions opened during 15 to 31 August 2016 at the Festivals Palace of the city of Cannes, reflecting Azerbaijan’s history and culture, and relations between France and Azerbaijan.

One of the exhibitions is called “Tracing the Partisan”. This exhibition has been devoted to Ahmadiyya Jabrailov, a participant of the World War 2nd, an eminent representative of the French Resistance Movement. Exhibits reflecting the Azerbaijani partisan’s path of life and battle, as well as photos taken from Ahmadiyya Jabrailov’s private archive have been displayed at the exhibition.

One of the exhibitions related to Azerbaijan has opened in the framework of the project “Under The Single Sun”. An exhibition and a film about multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan within this project have aroused much interest. Photos and films demonstrated at the exhibition were shot in various corners of Azerbaijan. Visitors were given information here about the tolerant environment dominating in Azerbaijan, based on photos and video materials reflecting the history, culture and customs of 20 ethnic minorities living in this country. And in the section “Talking Stones” of the exhibition, representatives of different minority peoples and ethnos tell interesting stories in their native language.

A documentary called ”Under The Single Sun”, talking about the traditions of different peoples living in Azerbaijan, was also presented at the exhibition. In one word, representatives of different peoples and nationalities living in Azerbaijan as a single family and the tolerant environment in our country, with its ancient and rich history, have been clearly reflected here.

At the exhibition “Ganja and Gabala: Two Cities Through The Lens Of French Photographers”, beauties of the Azerbaijani nature, its unique culture and traditions were presented. With a view to organizing the exhibitions, French photographers Samuel Gratacap and Jean-Francois Rauzier undertook a trip to Ganja and Gabala in 2016, and copied landscapes, monuments and the daily life of both of the cities of Azerbaijan - with their ancient history and the leading role in tourism - into the memory of their cameras.
