The Azerbaijani pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale
Azerbaijan was represented at the 60th Venice Biennale - an International Art Exhibition - with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, supported by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy.
This time, the Venice Biennale was organized under the slogan “Foreigners Everywhere”.
The Azerbaijani pavilion, located at Campo Della Tana - one of the architectural monuments of the 16th century - and organized on the theme “From Caspian to Pink Planet: I Am Here”, embodied the slogan of the Biennale.
In the national pavilion, the theme of being a foreigner was researched through the rich palette of artworks by honoured artists Irina Eldarova, Rashad Alakbarov, and artist Vusala Agharzayeva, bringing to attention the urgency of the theme for Azerbaijan.
