I have had the honor of visiting the Foundation named after the late President of the
Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku, during my official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan (05-
07.08.2004).
My visit to this Foundation brought us back to the years when President Heydar Aliyev
was working for the sake of independence, prosperity, security and stability of the Republic
of Azerbaijan and renewed our memories of those years.
There is no doubt that the great role which late Heydar Aliyev played in the history of the
relations between the friendly, fraternal and Moslem countries of the Islamic Republic of
Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, will live forever.
I would like to note that I was given a suitable opportunity to express my gratitude and
highly evaluate the efforts and services of Heydar Aliyev, now at this meeting as a
representative of the nation of Iran which is known for its high culture and ancient history,
and as the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
