Heydar Aliyev assumed great responsibility in the most difficult period, and within a very
short period of time managed to transform a newly independent country that was suffering
from the conditions of war, into a modern state with its own place in the contemporary
world. It was with this strong basis that was established during the period of his governance
that the Republic of Azerbaijan is looking ahead now with confidence. That is why his name
will always be associated with the name of Azerbaijan.
I believe that his name will live for as long as the Republic of Azerbaijan exists, which
means till eternity.
