Delegation of Vatican Pontifical Council for Culture visits Heydar Aliyev Foundation

June 17, delegation led by President of Vatican Pontifical Council for Culture Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Informed of the objectives of the Foundation, established in the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the guests viewed exhibits taken from the personal archive of the great leader. They were told headed by Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, the Foundation performs large-scale projects in the spheres such as science, education, health.

The main goal of the Foundation is to study and popularize Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, give an idea to the future generations and foreign visitors about his large-scale activity to achieve Azerbaijan`s socioeconomic, cultural progress and assist to projects promoting the history and culture of Azerbaijan.

The delegates saw photos, documents and books reflecting different periods of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity, as well a picture depicting Pope John Paul II and Heydar Aliyev in Vatican during his official visit to Italy in 1997.

Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi signed the Foundation`s guest book.
