An exhibition devoted to Azerbaijan launched at the building of the Municipality of the 7th District of Paris

On September 15, an exhibition devoted to Azerbaijan was launched on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the building of Municipality of the 7th District of Paris, and masters of art of our country performed with an interesting and extensive concert program.


Being on a visit to France, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event.

 

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva was greeted by Mayor of the 7th District of Paris Rashida Dati.

 

This exhibition was devoted to the Maiden Tower, one of the symbols of Azerbaijan. The exposition comprised works demonstrated during the “Maiden Tower” International art festivals held in 2010 and 2011 in Baku. Works by 19 artists were presented at the exhibition. All these works are united by one idea – to protect the cultural heritage of the world.

 

Photo-exhibitions reflecting today’s development of our country, its history and culture was also organized in Paris. Anyone looking at these photos clearly sees that the ancient Azerbaijan, its capital and all regions of our country are rapidly developing, becoming more beautiful and modern.

 

National musical instruments of Azerbaijan also roused interest. Detailed information was provided in French of each musical instrument. Demonstration of these instruments at the exhibition once more proves that they belong to the Azerbaijani nation. This exhibition is of much significance also in terms of promoting the Azerbaijani musical instruments in the world.

 

Presentation of “Azerbaijan” book, one of the most significant projects of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in the French language was made in the frame of the exhibition. Over 1,000 photos included in the publication give a rich impression on a reader about our country’s history, culture, nature, human sources and regions, and glorifies its capital located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, where Western and Eastern colours have come together.

 

There is no doubt that exhibitions held under organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation are of extreme importance in terms of closer promotion of Azerbaijan, its history, culture and art not only to the French, but also to all Europeans.

 

The exhibition will last until September 23.

 

Then Azerbaijani masters of art performed with an interesting concert program. An Azerbaijani musician amazed the audience.

 

After that a dinner-party was provided for the attendees of the event on behalf of First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.

 

Making a report at the ceremony, Mayor of the 7th District of Paris Rashida Dati emphasized that headed by Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva Heydar Aliyev Foundation had implemented a number of successful projects in the sphere of healthcare, education and science, saying she was glad to see the First Lady of Azerbaijan in Paris. Rashida Dati noted the role of Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva in creating in future a French school in Baku was great. She told implementation of a number of projects in future is expected.

 

The mayor of the 7th District of Paris noted also that the First Lady of Azerbaijan has done much work to further promote our country abroad. Speaking about the Azerbaijani-French relations, Rashida Dati touched also upon the economic relations between our countries. She mentioned also that Azerbaijan had rich energy resources.  Rashida Dati stressed that this event was an obvious example showing that relations between Azerbaijan and France have developed further, noting that the concert of Azerbaijani masters of art in Paris was very interesting.

 

President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva delivered a speech at the ceremony.
