On January 17, an exhibition and a concert took place within the framework of the project “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – A Pearl of the Caucasus” in the French city of Megève, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by Azerbaijan’s Embassy in France.
Exhibits related to Azerbaijan’s old and rich history and culture, including copper items, lattices, Azerbaijani national garments, national music instruments, Azerbaijani carpets, materials related to the life and creativity of Nizami Ganjavi, an Azerbaijani poet and thinker who lived in the 12th century, archaeological finds related to that period, as well as works by Aliyar Alimirzayev – an artist from Gusar district, a member of the Unions of Artists of Azerbaijan and USSR, whose works are preserved in museums of various countries – were displayed at the exhibition.
The guests were distributed publications by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and samples of the Azerbaijani cuisine presented.
A concert by a jazz band led by Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan, virtuosic performer Isfar Sarabski took place during the event.
The exhibition continued till the end of January.
Within the days of Azerbaijani culture, pupils of secondary schools in Megèvewere given information by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation about Azerbaijan and presented Azerbaijani sweets.
