Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the 7th "Protection of Environment " International Project Olympiad in Baku

The 7th "Protection of Environment " International Project Olympiad  (Inepo-Eurasia) devoted to the 90th jubilee  of national leader Heydar Aliyev was inaugurated at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex, April 5.


Represented by officials of government authorities and educational workers, the ceremony was attended by Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva. Leyla Aliyeva was honoured with special International Order of Glory “For Protection of Environment” by the Board of the Organising Committee of  the 7th "Protection of Environment " International Project Olympiad  (Inepo-Eurasia).  

 

Leyla Aliyeva addressed the ceremony.


Some 500 schoolchildren from 45 countries of the world joined the Olympiad being held in association with Ministers of Education, Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action), Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, “Çağ Öyretim İşletmeleri Şirketi” and “Inepo-Eurasia” Ecological Public Union. 52 projects submitted by foreign countries and 78 projects from Azerbaijan passed to the next stage.


Objective of the Olympiad is to enlighten the young generation of solution of growing ecological challenges both in Azerbaijan and in the world, and protection of environment,  develop schoolchildren’s environmental knowledge and expand enlightenment work on environmental issues.


President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Baghyrov and Minister of Education Misir Mardanov delivered a speech at the event.


Then they acquainted themselves with the exhibition arranged in the foyer of the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex.


Projects submitted to the Olympiad will be assessed by the Jury and rewarded at a ceremony to be held on April 6.
