Mehriban Aliyeva meets with UNICEF Regional Director Steven Allen
May 14, Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, met with Mr Steven Allen, UNICEF Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe/CIS, who is visiting Azerbaijan.
Having welcomed the guest, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva said that closer relations and fruitful cooperation have been established between Azerbaijan and UNICEF over the last years. The First Lady emphasized that much work has been done in Azerbaijan towards the protection of the rights of women and children. Mehriban Aliyeva also stressed the importance of Azerbaijan`s partnership with organizations as UNICEF in this field.
Stable business ties have been established between Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF, and these ties often lead to the successful realization of joint projects, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva emphasized.
The First Lady expressed hope for enhancement of bilateral cooperation after the meeting.
Mr Steven Allen said during his visit to Baku he would like to get better acquainted with the activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Existing relations and works to be done between the Foundation and UNICEF were discussed in the meeting.
