Mehriban Aliyeva met with delegation led by US President`s Science Envoy Dr. Alice Gast

Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, met with delegation led by US President`s Science Envoy Dr. Alice Gast, March 10. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed assurance the US delegation's visit would be successful.

Mehriban Aliyeva expressed assurance the US delegation's visit would be successful. She briefed them on the increasing potential of the country, adding Azerbaijan has the region`s fastest growing economy. The First Lady noted great attention is paid to development of science, education and technology in the country, logistics of education has been improved, new educational institutions created using modern techs. The major attention is paid now to lifting the quality of education. Today, Azerbaijani youth study at the most influential educational centers worldwide.

The First Lady pointed out the state is keen on expanding the education of youth and children abroad. She noted using American experience in education is important for Azerbaijan. Mrs. Aliyeva said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is ready for scientific and educational cooperation.

For her part, Alice Gast underlined the importance of projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation not only in Azerbaijan but also in other countries.

The parties discussed the measures taken towards education of pupils distinguished in secondary schools and students in the US and encouraging the youth for education.
