Heydar Aliyev Foundation organizes journey of winners of schoolchildren essay competition to European Countries

20 pupils, who won the essay contest of schoolchildren, visited France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Arranged on the initiative of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, the trip began in Paris.

 

The winners also visited Cologne, Germany, Belgian cities Brussels, Brugge, Namur and Dinant, Amsterdam, where they had excursions to the historical places and museums. The last day of the journey featured visit to Waterloo, the town near Brussels, and familiarization with local historical museums.

 

The traditionally held essay contest “Heydar Aliyev in the Eyes of Children” involved over 600,000 schoolchildren. By results of three phases, 96 schoolchildren were allowed for participation in the last phase and among them the jurors defined 21 winners. Five of them took the first place, other five second place, 11 schoolchildren gained third place.

 

56 excelling schoolchildren received honorary awards, compositions of 87 schoolchildren were released in the form of a book. Ten of pupils are from Nakhchyvan.
