President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attends opening of school No. 236 in Badamdar settlement after major repair and reconstruction

Secondary School No. 236 in Badamdar settlement of Sabail district, Baku was opened after major repair and reconstruction due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, September 7.

Azerbaijan`s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening.

The construction work at the School built in 1966 and attended by 1940 pupils started in May. The School, total area of which is 4,960 square meters, has 31 classrooms, 7 departments and 11 special rooms equipped with necessary appliances. Beside existing 3 floors, the 4050-sq.m roof has been set, territory around the School renovated.

The lobby includes state attributes and photo stands showing the works done for the development of education by great leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and activities of Heydar Aliyev Foundation that rendered huge support to the School’s repair.

M.Aliyeva viewed a photo stand reflecting the School`s look before the overhaul. She then viewed the School.

Head of the Sabail District Executive Authority Asif Asgarov told Mehriban Aliyeva that the School`s chemistry, biology and physics departments were supplied with state-of-the-art special equipment.

He said two computer rooms were established in the School, with all the computers here having internet access and necessary programs. The School also got a new music cabinet where a German-made piano was installed. Pre-conscription training cabinet has necessary devices and stands to assure military training of the youth on the high level, a mini barrack has been created. The School has 200-seat assembly hall, gym, library supplied with all textbooks, literature and dictionaries.

The School`s Vice-Principal Yagut Islamova thanked President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the teaching staff:

We are very happy. This huge gift inspires us to hardly work, train youth deserving our state. We approve and pursue the efforts by President Ilham Aliyev. We so much love our president. As his close associate we thank You too for taking care about our art, culture, education, health.

Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva said necessary measures are taken to improve the country`s education system to international standards, vowing the process will be continued:

All the schools across Azerbaijan must meet modern standards. We have already embarked on this path. Some 1,800 schools were built and reconstructed in the country to highest standards over the last four years. There is everything you need to get high level education in these schools.
