Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves visits Heydar Aliyev Foundation

On January 13, Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The Estonian President and his spouse Evelin Ilves were warmly welcomed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

President Ilham Aliyev spoke of the aims of the Foundation, which was created in memory of Azerbaijan’s nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, and provided information about the items from the national leader`s personal archive.

The Estonian leader familiarized himself with the documents reflecting Heydar Aliyev`s lifetime, gifts presented to him by eminent political figures as well as books and photographs about the national leader.

The Estonian President was familiarized with numerous documents reflecting the very various moments of the genius person’s life and creating a detailed idea of the entire history of Azerbaijan, gifts presented by world-famous figures of politics, books on the national leader, views said by world-famous figures of science, culture and art on the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, saw photos taken in meetings with leaders of various countries.

Toomas Hendrik Ilves signed the guest book.

After exchanging souvenirs the Presidents and First Ladies watched a film about the activity of the Foundation.

The distinguished guest left the Foundation under rich impressions.
