Turkey office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation holds scientific conference due to the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy

Turkey Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation held scientific conference ‘The Garabagh problem and Khojaly tragedy: From the past up to the present’ at Uludag University due to the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy. Consul General of Azerbaijan to Istanbul, heads of Bursa City municipalities, teachers and students of Uludag University, mass media attended the conference.

 

Started with national anthems of Turkey and Azerbaijan at the Uludag University rector’s office the event was opened by Samir Jafarov, Head of Turkey Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. He talked of works done by Heydar Aliyev Foundation not to forget Khojaly genocide and provide truth to the world community, as well psychological war carried out by the Republic of Armenia and Armenian diaspora, propaganda of lie and slander they spread.

 

Ozgen Keskin, Head of Bursa Yildirim Municipality, Barish Ozdal, lecturer at International Relations Department of Uludag University, Mehmet Gench, professor in law, Seyyad Salahly, Consul General of Azerbaijan to Istanbul talked about history of the Garabagh problem, analyzing the problem from political and legal standpoints. They underlined the world community approaches the Garabagh conflict with double standards. Stressing Azerbaijan develops day by day rapporteurs noted our country is powerful to have its lands back both by peacefully and militarily.     

 

Assessing Khojaly tragedy as one of the gravest crimes against humanity participants of the conference discussed legal actions that can be taken in the international arena concerning the tragedy.
