President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva meets with Vice-Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Svetlana Orlova and First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Lyudmila Shvetsova

First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva met on September 25 with Vice-Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Svetlana Orlova and First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Lyudmila Shvetsova who are in Baku to attend the Azerbaijani Women’s 3rd Congress.

Expressing delight of greeting the visitors in Baku the First Lady of Azerbaijan thanked them for accepting the invitation and coming to Azerbaijan to attend the congress. Informing the guests of objectives of the Foundation established in memory of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev she noted main goals of the Foundation is to study and propagate rich political legacy of famous political figure Heydar Aliyev, create an obvious idea in foreign visitors and future generations on his large-scale activity towards socio-economic and cultural progress of Azerbaijan, support international projects started by the genius person, help the works implemented in field of wide propaganda of Azeri culture and history.

In addition, the Foundation develops and implements in Azerbaijan and abroad large projects in field of education, public health, culture and science. Talking of works performed towards reconstruction of children homes and boarding schools, improving their logistics, rendering multilateral care to children deprived of parental care, helping people affected with diabetes and thalassemia, construction of new schools, teaching the disabled children ICT skills, study and propaganda of our rich culture Mehriban Aliyeva said hundreds of schools meeting modern standards were built and launched over the past years by the Foundation in the republic, majority of them are in remotest mountainous villages.

She mentioned the International Mugam Center that will serve propaganda of mugam – ancient art of music of our nation and the center for examination and treatment of thalassemia-affected people are under construction in Baku.

Svetlana Orlova and Lyudmila Shvetsova expressed gratitude for high-level hospitality and detailed information.

Visitors highly valued activities of the Foundation, expressed rich impression of meeting with the Azerbaijan’s First Lady.
