The Heydar Aliyev Foundation provides financial aid to schools in Maryland State of USA

Financial aid was provided by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to schools for children with serious physical and mental deficiency located in Montgomery County of Maryland State, USA. The aid will be used to purchase the technology that can be used with smart boards at schools, and  relevant equipment for disabled children.

In this connection, a special ceremony was arranged, June 7, at the Longview school for disabled children in Maryland State. The ceremony was attended by the school management, representatives of organizations being members of the Montgomery County’s education system, representatives of local government entities and a group of disabled children.

Delivering a speech before attendees, US representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Jamila-Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh gave them information about our country and people, then talked of the Foundation’s  establishment and its objectives. She also talked about multilateral activity carried out under the leadership of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.

The Foundation’s representative said exchange of experiences between the Longview school and Azerbaijan’s specialized schools would be fruitful for both sides.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, executive director of the Montgomery County’s Education Fund Yolanda Pruitt, representative of the County’s Education Services Centre Lavern Kimbal and coordinator of the Longview school Michael Mac thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for sincere benevolence and highly appreciated this initiative.

Being among the attendees of the event, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to USA Elin Suleymanov said this charitable action will significantly contribute to the deepening of relations between the two nations.

Disks and information brochures prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and reflecting Azerbaijan’s music treasures were presented to the management of the Longview school.

At the end of the ceremony, the conditions created at the school for physically disabled children were shown to the attendees of the event.

A special article has been devoted in Washington Times to the charitable action by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
