Inauguration of the Uzeir Hajibeyli 5th International Music Festival
On September 18, inauguration of the Uzeir Hajibeyli 5th International Music Festival being held with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism took place at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
On the same day, the Opera and Ballet Theatre opened its 105th theatre season. Both significant events commenced with Uzeir Hajibeyli’s “Arshyn mal alan” spectacle.
Those delivering a speech at the ceremony said Uzeir Hajibeyli was a matchless gift God bestowed upon the people of Azerbaijan, and appreciated his creative legacy as extremely valuable moral wealth not only for his own people, but also for the whole world.
Since 2009, international music festivals devoted to Uzeir Hajibeyli, a great composer and the founder of Azerbaijan’s professional music, has been held in our country. Well-known musicians, art groups, soloists and conductors participate in this festival’s concerts.
Music director and conductor of the “Arshyn mal alan” spectacle presented to art-lovers at the evening was People’s Artist Javanshir Jafarov, producer Honoured Person of art Hafiz Gouliyev and production designer Honoured Person of art Eyyub Fataliyev.
Main roles were performed by people’s artists Ramiz Azizbeyli, Shahlar Gouliyev, honoured artists Gulyaz Mammadova, Gulustan Aliyeva, Fidan Hajiyeva, young soloists Afag Abbasova and Farid Aliyev etc.
The Festival will continue until September 28th.
