Turkey Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation gives reception on Novruz holiday

Reception was given on March 17, 2010 by Turkey Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in honor of Azeris studying in Izmir City on the occasion of Novruz Holiday.

Arranged in the centre of the city the banquet was attended by 300 people, including Azerbaijani figures of art and science working in Izmir, first deputy governor and head of education office of Izmir Region, former head of Bornova Municipality, Turkmenistan and Jordan consuls, Azerbaijan education attache and delegates of Azerbaijan diaspora organizations. Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Representative in Turkey Samir Jafarov greeted and congratulated the visitors and students on behalf of President of the Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. Deputy Governor of Izmir Mehmet Erdogan and other guests congratulated the attendees on Novruz Holiday and expressed gratitude to Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Sketches featuring national Novruz traditions were performed, malt and national sweets presented to visitors in the event. Azerbaijan Folklore Band enriched the reception with Azeri songs.
