The Romanian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has provided humanitarian aid to the Nursing Centre for the Elderly in the city of Cluj-Napoca

On November 5, 2010, the Romanian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has held a humanitarian action, following the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania, for the Nursing Centre for the Elderly in the city of Cluj-Napoca.  Each of the Centre’s patients were given food, set of bedding and clothes, medications, sanitary and hygienic means and necessary household appliances.

Having made a speech in a ceremony of presenting the humanitarian aid intended for 130 inmates, head of the Centre, doctor Liviu Popa thanked President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for not forgetting the elderly, and mentioned that the Foundation has repeatedly provided humanitarian aid to the Nursing Centre for the Elderly in the city of Cluj-Napoca, and this has become a tradition.

Doctor L.Popa informed that the Nursing Centre for the Elderly in the city of Cluj-Napoca  is the only establishment considered to be one of the centres of the old Transylvanian region, which serves the elderly on behalf of the state in this historical city. It is almost fully financed from the state budget. L.Popa said the economic crisis continuing in Romania has also affected this nursing home for the elderly, and despite the great demand, the Centre could serve a limited number of people: “Here, 130 aged people are nursed and provided aid by social service employees and nurses”.

Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Romanian Representative Office Igbal Hajiyev informed the employees of the Centre about the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation  in Romania, and said, based on instructions of the Foundation’s President Mehriban Aliyeva, multilateral care and assistance for people at the  Nursing Centre for the Elderly in the city of Cluj-Napoca  will not be denied.
