Double Olympic champion in weightlifting Vasiliy Alekseev and his spouse Olimpiada Alekseeva visit Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Double Olympic, eightfold world and European Champion Vasiliy Alekseev and his spouse Olimpiada Alekseeva, who participate in the 4th Azerbaijan Veterans Open Championship, visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation, February 20.

V.Alekseeev, the holder of up to 80 records, is the strongest athlete of XX century in the world.

They were informed of objectives and actions of the Foundation established in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

It was noted the main goal of the Foundation is to study and propagate the rich heritage of great leader Heydar Aliyev, assist to development of Azerbaijan, promotion of its culture and history implementing socioeconomic and cultural projects.

Guests were informed of huge care Heydar Aliyev rendered to sport and sportsmen in all periods of his leadership in Azerbaijan.

They viewed the exhibits taken from the archive of the great leader, photos reflecting his meetings with leaders of superpowers, works he did to inform the world community of Azerbaijan realities, carry out his purposeful policy.

Visitors left the Foundation under rich impressions.
