Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and his spouse Asma Al-Assad visit Heydar Aliyev Foundation

July 8, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his spouse Asma al-Assad visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

The Syrian President and his spouse were welcomed here by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.

 

The distinguished guest was informed of objectives and actions of the Foundation established in memory of the national leader of Azerbaijani people.


 President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized the Syrian President and his spouse with exhibits and pictures taken from the archive of the great leader and reflecting separate eras of his activity.

 

President Ilham Aliyev said powerful and rich Azerbaijan is successfully going ahead in the way set by national leader Heydar Aliyev. Architect and constructor of modern independent Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev has become the source of national pride and honor to Azerbaijanis, acquired the title of the national leader of our people. The era the great leader was in the power is one of the most glorious pages in the history of Azerbaijan. Socioeconomic development, achievements assessed today by the international community as huge successes of our country is the fruits of the national leader’s activity. 

 

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his spouse Asma al-Assad familiarized themselves with the documents concerning national leader Heydar Aliyev`s activity and creating a detailed idea of the entire history of Azerbaijan, keepsakes presented by famous politicians, books dedicated to the national leader, and opinions of scientists and people of art about the founder of Azerbaijani state. They also saw photographs depicting Heydar Aliyev`s meetings with world`s leaders.

 

President Bashar al-Assad signed the Guest Book. The Syrian President and his spouse were given keepsakes.

 

The presidents and their spouses watched a film about the Foundation`s activity.

 

The distinguished guest left the Foundation under rich impressions.
