President of Slovenia Danilo Turk and his spouse Barbara Miklic Turk visit Heydar Aliyev Foundation

9 November, President of Slovenia Danilo Turk and his spouse Barbara Miklic Turk visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation. 

The Slovenian President and his spouse were welcomed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The distinguished guest was briefed on the aims of the Foundation which was established in memory of Azerbaijani people’s nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized the Slovenian leader and his spouse with exhibits and photos from the nationwide leader`s personal archive and featuring different periods of his carrier.

President Ilham Aliyev said “Today`s powerful and rich Azerbaijan successfully goes ahead in the way defined by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev”. He noted founder of modern independent Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev became a source of national proud of Azerbaijanis, and he earned the name of nationwide leader. The President pointed out the tenure of the nationwide leader is one of the most glorious pages in the history of Azerbaijan. Socioeconomic development, achievements obtained that are accepted today by international community as huge successes of our country are the fruits of the national leader’s action.

The Slovenian President and his spouse viewed numerous documents reflecting the very different moments of phenomenon personality Heydar Aliyev’s life and giving a detailed idea of the entire history of Azerbaijan, gifts presented by world-famous figures of politics, books on the national leader, views said by prominent figures of science, culture and art on the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, saw photos taken in meetings with leaders of various countries.

President Danilo Turk signed the Foundation`s guest book.

After exchanging souvenirs, the presidents and first ladies watched a film about the activity of the Foundation.

The distinguished guest left the Foundation under rich impressions.
