President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and his spouse Alma Adamkiene visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation on June 9.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva warmly greeted the head of Lithuanian State and his spouse.
The Lithuanian President and his spouse familiarized themselves with the photographs and objects reflecting life of constructor and architect of state of Azerbaijan, national leader Heydar Aliyev, viewed the things with interest of the great leader.
Valdas Adamkus was informed of objectives of the Foundation created as a sign of respect in memory of genius son of Azerbaijan. It was stated main goals of the Foundation are to study and propagate rich heritage of President Heydar Aliyev, create obvious idea in future generations about his large-scale activity directed to social-economic and cultural progress of Azerbaijan, support international projects author of which is the genius person, assist the works done in field of wide popularization of Azeri history and culture.
President Ilham Aliyev used historical photographs to update his Lithuanian counterpart on national leader Heydar Aliyev`s activity. These pictures widely cover his leadership in Azerbaijan during Soviet Union, activity in USSR management, lastly Presidency of independent Azerbaijan. Unique pictures recalling his diplomatic meetings held with great political and state figures of the world caused big interest.
After familiarizing with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus signed the guest book.
President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva presented the gift to the distinguished guest.
Then, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus viewed along with their spouses Baku, ancient Old City from the balcony of the Foundation.
Then, Presidents and their spouses had sincere conversation at the tea table.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev presented to President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus the album of the photographs showing the meetings held during his visit to Azerbaijan.
