Employees of the Supreme Court visit the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

In connection with the 90^th jubilee of national leader Heydar Aliyev, employees of the Supreme Court of the Azerbaijan Republic visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, April 29.

Employees of the Supreme Court were informed of the Foundation’s activity and told that the Foundation studies and promotes the rich legacy of the national leader. By implementing various social, economic and cultural projects, it provides support to Azerbaijan’s progress and promotion of its culture and history.

It was noted that, following the judicial reforms carried out in the country  under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership, the legal system inherited from the former Soviet Union has been completely reorganized based on democratic principles, and drafted with direct leadership and involvement of the national leader and adopted in a nation-wide referendum in 1995, the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan has set up the basis of a democratic legal state  and judicial system and a legal basis for the protection of human rights and freedoms, by officially declaring that the source of government was the people.  Recommendations and directions of the national leader on carrying out reforms towards formation and development of the judicial power as an independent branch of a democratic state power, as well as judicial protection of peoples’ rights and freedoms into reality have been successfully realized.

The guests viewed also pictures and exhibits taken from Heydar Aliyev’s personal archive and covering individual periods of his activity, reflecting the most different moments of his life and giving a broad idea of a whole period of our history. They acquainted themselves with materials related to the childhood and youth years  of the eminent political figure, his wide-scale activity as one of the former USSR leaders in Moscow, and the mock-up of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Main Export Pipeline.

Then the guests watched a documentary called “Moments of a Great Life” talking of Heydar Aliyev’s glorious course of life.
