Former Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus visits the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Participating in the First South Caucasus Forum in Baku, former Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, May 7.

The guest was informed of the objective and activity of the Foundation established in memory of our people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev. It was noted that the Foundation studies and promotes the rich legacy of the national leader and, by implementing various social, economic and cultural projects, it provides support to Azerbaijan’s progress and promotion of its culture and history. 

The guest viewed pictures and exhibits taken from Heydar Aliyev’s personal archive and related to individual periods of his activity.

Valdas Adamkus was informed that the period while Heydar Aliyev was in power was one of the glorious pages of Azerbaijan’s history. Social and economic development recognized today by the international community, achievements reached are just products of the national leaders’ activity.

Valdas Adamkus acquainted himself with documents reflecting the most different moments of Heydar Aliyev’s life and giving a broad idea of a whole period of Azerbaijan’s  history, souvenirs presented by well-known world political persons, books devoted to the national leader, sayings by influential persons of science, culture and art about the founder of the independent Azerbaijan, as well as pictures taken during meetings with foreign countries’ leaders.

The former president presented a book written by himself to the Foundation.
