Federal President of Austria Heinz Fischer and his spouse Margit Fischer visit the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Federal President of Austria Heinz Fischer and his spouse Margit Fischer visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, October 12.

The President and his spouse were welcomed by President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.

President Ilham Aliyev briefed the Austrian counterpart on the objectives and activities of the Foundation established in the memory of the Azerbaijani people`s national leader. Heinz Fischer was told the key goal of the Foundation is to study and popularize prominent political figure Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, implement humanitarian projects to back Azerbaijan`s progress, promote the study of history and development of culture of the country.

The visitor was familiarized with exhibits and photographs taken from the great leader’s archive and reflecting the very different moments of his activity.

He was informed of the national leader’s leadership, which has gone down in the history of Azerbaijan as one of the most glorious pages, as well socioeconomic development, huge achievements of the country recognized by the international community.

The honor guest saw documents reflecting Heydar Aliyev’s life and providing a comprehensive idea of an entire era of Azerbaijan’s history, gifts by world-known political figures, visions said by figures of science, culture and art on the founder of the state of Azerbaijan, also photographs with leaders of other countries.

President Heinz Fischer signed the Foundation`s guest book.

The Austrian President was presented with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s keepsake.
