President of the Republic of Latvia Mrs Vaira Vike-Freyberga visited on October 4 Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva sincerely welcomed Latvian President Mrs Vaira Vike-Freyberga and her husband Imants Freybergs in front of the Foundation`s building.
President Mrs Vaira Vike-Freyberga and delegations members were informed on the goals of the Foundation. It was informed that the major goals of the Foundation established in honor of the national leader of Azerbaijani people are to study and propagate the rich heritage of Heydar Aliyev, create an obvious imagination in future generations and guests about his large-scale activity directed to socio-economic, cultural development of Azerbaijan, render assistance to the works implemented in field of wide propaganda of Azerbaijani culture and history, support implementation of international projects, author of which is the genius personality.
President Ilham Aliyev widely informed the distinguished guest of the exhibits taken from the personal archive of the national leader and covering his childhood, youth and political activity.
Mrs Vaira Vike-Freyberga and delegations members were acquainted with the numerous photos reflecting the very different moments of phenomenon personality Heydar Aliyev and creating a wide imagination of the entire era of Azerbaijani history, the gifts presented by famous political figures of the world, the books on our great leader.
Head of Latvia had familiarization with the views said on the constructor of state of Azerbaijan by prestigious figures of politics, science, art and culture of the world, saw with big interest photos of our national leader taken together with the leaders of foreign countries.
After familiarization with the Foundation, the Latvian President wrote her sincere words down in the Honor Book
The talk was continued at the tea table. President Ilham Aliyev presented Mrs Vaira Vike-Freyberga the photoalbum of the pictures taken during her visit to our country.
