President of Finland Tarja Halonen visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation

On 30 September, President of Finland Tarja Halonen visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva sincerely welcomed President of Finland Tarja Halonen and her husband Pentti Arajarvi.

President Tarja Halonen and members of delegation were informed about the goals of the Foundation established in honor of the national leader of Azerbaijani people. it was noted the major goals of the Foundation are to study and propagate the rich heritage of Heydar Aliyev, create an obvious imagination in future generations and guests about his large-scale activity directed to socio-economic, cultural development of Azerbaijan, support implementation of international projects, author of which is the genius personality, render assistance to the works implemented in field of wide propaganda of Azerbaijani culture and history.

President Ilham Aliyev widely informed the distinguished guest of the exhibits taken from the personal archive of the national leader and covering the various periods of his activity.

Mrs Tarja Halonen and members of Finnish delegation were acquainted with the numerous photos reflecting the very different moments of phenomenon personality Heydar Aliyev and creating a wide imagination of the entire era of Azerbaijani history, the gifts presented by famous political figures of the world, the books on our great leader. Mrs Halonen had familiarization with the views said on the constructor of state of Azerbaijan by prestigious figures of politics, science, art and culture of the world, was taken picture for memory with President Ilham Aliyev in front of the photo of our national leader taken together with the leaders of European and Asian countries.

After familiarization with the Foundation, the Finnish President wrote her warm words down in the Honor Book:

`I express my deep gratitude to you for the interesting exhibition honoring the memory of Heydar Aliyev. This exhibition is dedicated to the formation of your state and reflects the very interesting part of European history`.

The conversation was continued at the tea table. President Ilham Aliyev presented Mrs Tarja Halonen the photoalbum of the pictures taken during her visit to our country.

President Tarja Halonen and members of delegation viewed the beautiful sites of Baku from the balcony of the Foundation.

The distinguished guest said she left the Foundation under good impressions.
