Paris highly welcomes performance of Azerbaijani musicians

Azerbaijani musicians gave a big gala concert at the Champs Elysee Theatre in Paris on April 2. The concert was organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan to France under the aegis of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva who renders great services to propagate the Azeri culture and art in Europe, specially in France. The concert was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of creation of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan that was the first independent and democratic state in East in the early last century.

 

In the beginning of the concert the wind instruments band of the French National Guards performed the national anthems of Azerbaijan and France.

 

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France Tarik Aliyev congratulated the participants.

 

The concert featured performances by mugham master Alim Gasimov and his daughter Fargana, parts from works of Azeri composers, romances and arias, national dances and jazz.

 

In the end, musicians together performed song ‘Azerbaijan’ by composer Rauf Hajiyev.

 

The concert brought together about 2000 visitors including Azeri Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Efendiyev, officials of the French state, senators, members of the National Assembly, ambassadors of different countries and representatives of the accredited diplomatic corps, representatives of the French public and Azerbaijan’s diaspora.

 

In the reception given after the concert the visitors tasted the national cuisine of Azerbaijan.
