Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Embassy of Azerbaijan to Turkey arranged events in Ankara due to the 16th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy

Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Embassy of Azerbaijan to Turkey arranged events in Ankara due to the 16th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy.

 

Wreath was laid February 25 on the monument in memory of the genocide victims in Estergon Castle in Kechioren District of Ankara. Ambassador Zakir Heshimov and Chairman of Kechioren Municipality Turgut Altynok fired the eternal torch in memory of the genocide victims.

 

National leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, founder of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kamal Ataturk and our martyrs were honored to the minute of silence. Prayers were said for their soul.

 

Addressing the ceremony, which was attended by reps of Kechioren Municipality, politicians, reps of the public, our cadets and students studying in Turkey, employees of the Embassy, reps of media, Zakir Heshimov, MP Ganira Pashayeva, MP of Turkey Haluk Ipek, Chairman of Kechioren Municipality Turgut Altynok, Deputy Chairman of Caucasian Moslems Department Hajy Salman talked of massacres committed by Armenians against Azeris and Turks, atrocity against innocent people in Khojaly, noted the fight by the two brotherly nations against the insidious enemy is getting strengthened.

 

The same day, Conference ‘The 16th anniversary of Khojaly massacre’ was organized by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, ‘Friendship and Solidarity Circle of Turkic World Women’ and Embassy of Azerbaijan to Ankara.

 

Reps of all political parties of Turkey, embassies, public, intellectuals and press, also cadets and students studying in this country were present in the event held in the conference room of Turkey Standards Institute. Exhibition of photos and books reflecting the genocide was organized in the lobby by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Before the event, film ‘Khojaly massacre’ made by Heydar Aliyev Foundation was shown.

 

Seeing the horrors in the film MPs of Turkey Shenol Bal, Movlud Chavushoglu, former home affairs minister Ismet Sezgin valued the massacre as one of the gravest crimes against the universe, noted state officials, MPs, intellectuals of Turkey and Azerbaijan must assure awareness of the world of these realities, disclose the inner side of Armenians.

 

Azeri Ambassador to Ankara Z.Heshimov expressed gratitude to the brotherly people and leadership of Turkey for supporting our country. He said Turkish Premier Rejeb Tayyib Erdogan once again strictly replied to Armenians in the speech he recently delivered in Munich, Germany, demanded them to withdraw from Garabagh.

 

Deputy Chairman of Caucasian Moslems Department, sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade recalled hard years when Khojaly tragedy happened, said he buried with his own hands the children Armenians brutally killed. A.Pashazade noted leaders as Vezirov, Mutallibov who were serving then Mikhail Gorbachev against interests of their own nation must be punished. The people of Azerbaijan that has undergone huge shocks came together only after great leader Heydar Aliyev came to the power and tragedies were prevented. Sheikhulislam stressed mutual relations of Presidents Ilham Aliyev, Abdullah Gul and Premier Rejeb Tayyib Erdogan allow to give a worthy reply to the Armenians.     

 

Telegrams of condolences by Turkish Premier Rejeb Tayyib Erdogan, ministers, MPs due to the 16th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy were read in the Conference.  

Addressing the Conference Ganira Pashayeva, Gunduz Aktan and Shenol Bal widely talked of the aggressive policy and massacres by Armenians and their supporters against Azerbaijanis and Turks throughout the centuries.  

 

Play ‘Khojaly massacre’ was performed by the Azeri students in the end of the Conference.
